You Deserve Beauty-Gifted Designs

Say hello to Shannon of Gifted Designs on Etsy!

Born and bred a Montrealer in Quebec, Canada, Shannon is an artist though and through! Even though she has been an artist all her life, she just recently discovered her crafting talent about two years ago, coincidentally, when she stumbled across Etsy-"Jewelry design came COMPLETELY by chance. Soon after joining Etsy, my initial thought was to start a Paper Goods Empire. Somehow, all that energy and passion got transferred to jewelry and I couldn't for the life of me tell you when or how. What I CAN tell you is that I love it. It's a completely different creative outlet and it fulfills a part of me I didn't even know was there."

Apart from being an amazing jewelry creator and a well-rounded artist, Shannon works as a graphic designer for a small, but growing, home decor company. So as of right now, her art is just a side job(but in my opinion, when your doing what you love, it's no job!).

As for her jewelry, Shannon creates beautiful one of a kind pieces made of all sorts of different mediums: stones, precious metals, vintage and found objects, plus much more!

"I'm in the process of teaching myself cold-connection and so I'm hoping to offer that kind of jewelry soon. Eventually, I want to go all out and learn hot-connections & stone-setting too!"

For Shannon, inspiration comes from other artists and different colors: "I tend to save anything I come across that evokes feelings inside of me." Right now, she is in the process of creating wall art out. Eventually, she informs me, she will have a HUGE wall of nothing but gorgeous items and fabulous color to look at whenever she has a creativity block.

Advice from Shannon: "Brand yourself. If you cannot do it on your own, invest in a designer who can create a logo and business paraphernalia for you. It definitely will be an investment and can seem like a lot of cash to drop, but it's important to be recognizable right away. Take good product shots and give your shots a nice consistency so that they flow well in shop. Price yourself properly. If you're going to sell, there's no point in doing so if you're not going to take a profit...keep track of your expenses, overhead and shipping costs and make sure to check up on your local laws for small business to be sure everything is on the up and up. Lastly, PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE! be visible...people aren't going to find you if you sit there and do nothing."

If you happen to be in Shannon's path: MOVE. QUICKLY! This woman is on a mission and I have no doubt Gifted Designs is going to make a name for itself very soon.

Love and Energies.
Kayla

Go ahead and make your own wall! Just be sure to ask if you can print out the things you come across...:)

Wouldn't it be great to have inspiration walls all over the world?
