A Forced (Kinda) Break.

So you know that computer charger that was being temperamental but still worked if you wiggled, jiggled, and jimmy-rigged it?

Yeah, It now refuses to work AT ALL.

I finally broke down and had to order a replacement online that will arrive within '8-10 business days.' I seriously thought of paying the extra $20 for overnight shipping but I really do not have it :-(

Cross your fingers that it's just the charger that crapped out and it's not Charlie-I don't know what I would do if I have to get a new computer....

I start hyperventilating just thinking about it!

Anyway, I apologize to those people who I need to review, feature, and hold giveaways for. I'm on an unfamiliar computer that I can't import pictures/videos/etc, so I'm just going to take the next few days off until I get my charger-This little vacation is definitely well needed, anyway unwanted.

I'll still be checking my email and commenting on other blogs, though, so I won't be totally gone! And I do have one or two posts that are ready for posting, so you can look forward to those.

Love and Energies.

I've Been Semi-Tagged!

I've been tagged by Lynn over at Midday Escapades for this fun little meme and I figured I haven't done one in awhile, so why not!?

Hope you enjoy!

Name someone with the same birthday as you:
One of my best friends, a few bloggers in bloggy land, one of my Lymie friends, and a couple of random people/acquaintances.

Oh, and Daisy Fuentes.

Where was your first kiss? Honestly, I can't remember for the life of me! That's one of the things about being a Lymie-Some things you remember and other's you can't(which is both a good and a bad thing all at the same time LOL).

Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property? Oh wow, no. It's called Karma people. Although I did go TPing with my church group leader...Yes, church group leader. Lmao.

Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex? Of course-Mostly in fun. Maybe once or twice with force.

Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people? No way, no how, no chance!

What's the first thing you notice about your preferred sex? Hair. I usually go for the dark, shaggy haired type.

My mum keeps telling people I go for the dark ones, but that has a WHOLE different connotation.

What really turns you off? Think-they-know-it-all-attitude.

What do you order at Starbucks? Nothing-I really can't stand Starbucks. **yucky**

What is your biggest mistake? There are a few mishaps I have done in the past, but I don't look at them as mistakes because I learned from them.

They are more like life lessons.

Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose? This is one that I would rather not answer. Sorry people.

Say something totally random about yourself: I just discovered conditioner...I think I might have been living under a rock for the last 20 years. LMAO.

Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity? Not that I can remember, and I'm okay with that. I think it's a great insult to be thought of as a celebrity.

Do you still watch kiddie movies or TV shows? Of course! I like iCarly, Scooby Doo (the originals), and some Disney, Pixar movies.

Did you have braces? I did for about a year and a half-Hated those things with a fiery passion that consumed my soul.

I danced when I got them off.

Are you comfortable with your height? Yes ma'am I am! I'm not too tall to wear I can't wear heels and not to short to where I have to wear heels all the time.

I'm just right :)

What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you? Brought me a dozen roses.

When do you know it's love? Honestly, I have no idea. Personally, I've never felt it and no one can truly explain it because it's different for each person so I couldn't tell you.

Do you speak any other languages? I know a little bit of Spanish and a little bit of Polish. I would love to learn more Spanish, Polish, and my new obsession is Japanese.

Have you ever been to tanning salon? A few times-I really didn't understand WHY girls (and some guys) go ALL the time, but know that I know it's that relaxing, it's a nice thing to do every once in awhile.

Get that: Every ONCE in awhile.

Have you ever ridden in a limo? Not that I can remember.

What's something that really annoys you? Bad grammar. I'm guilty of doing the IM talk 'u' 'w/e' and 'y' but very rarely.

What's something you really like? Food. Food+Me=BFFLs

Can you dance? I think everyone can dance to a certain extent, but like So-You-Think-You-Can-Dance material...No.

Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room? The two times that I found myself paralyzed. Nooooooot fun.

So now to pass this on...
tag all of you(yes you) who want to participate in this fun little meme!

Love and Energies.

Small Talk Six(11/28)-All I Want for Christmas...

From MomDot:

"We would like to invite everyone to join in on a new weekly meme on MomDot calledSmall Talk Six!” Since weekends are generally a little slower around the blogosphere, we thought this would be a great way to have a quick, fun, interactive meme.

All you need to do is grab one of the graphics below for your “Small Talk Six” posts and your sidebar. Then make a short (or an elaborate) post on your blog in response to the assigned topic of the week (see list here).

You can respond to each topic with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, or 6 photos. Get the idea?"

***********************************************************************

This week's Small Talk Six topic is:

6 things on your wish list for Christmas this year

1. First and foremost, I REALLY wanted a 32GB ipod Touch for my birthday and I was given the money for it, but unfortunately I couldn't get it because of Charlie's temperament-So that money is going to be put aside in case he kicks the bucket.

2. Clothing-I'm in dire need of at least a few heavy duty sweaters this winter otherwise I might just freeze to death if I step foot outside!

And apparently it's going to be a long and harshly cold winter according the the local squirrels.

3. Hayao Miyazaki's DVD Collection-There really isn't anything to be said about Miyazaki.

He's pure genius.

4. iTunes Gift Cards-There are a few soundtracks that I would love to own, and what better way then to give/get iTunes gift cards!?

5. James Rollins Books-He is one of my absolute favorite authors and I have a good majority of his books, but there are a few I lack(such as the newer stuff).

6. Leather Jacket-I'm not sure what sparked my leather jacket fetish, but I would absolutely adore a vintage, leather bomber jacket.

It's not a need though, so there are more important things on my list (like clothing-Lol-).

Happy Saturday!!

Get Your Lemonade!

It's award time again! Lynn of Midday Escapades is such a sweetie, who was nice enough to pass this lovely award onto me :) I tell you if I could, I would pass this right back to her...Is that against the rules?

Featured Blogger Friday(11/20)-Midday Escapades

Another Friday, another lovely featured blogger to grace your wonderful morning; And if it's not wonderful yet, just wait-It's Friday :)

Who is it this week you ask? I asked my good friend Lynn over at Midday Escapades to grace us with her charming self!

If your not familiar with Lynn or her blog, I highly recommend you check it out-She is a very down to earth person who is such a sweetheart.

Enjoy!

Q. What’s your name and blog? What other information would you like to share?

My name is Lynn and my blog name is: Midday Escapades. I'm also very honored to be a featured blogger at your site!

Q. Why did you choose that name for your blog?

"Midday" for the lunch hour and "escapades" for adventures.

Q. Why did you start blogging?

I needed an outlet to share my escapades out of the office to help me escape the daily grind of my 9-5 job. Then the blog started to take shape and now the name also fits as a place for anyone to come for a midday escapade.

Q. What kind of stuff do you cover with your blog? Is there a specific genre you write about or is the sky the limit?

At this point, I blog about anything and everything. I try to post regular midday escapades and feature fellow bloggers and participate in memes. I also discovered the wonderful world and reviews and giveaways and have really enjoyed offering those to my readers. The sky really is the limit - keeps things interesting.

Q. Name one thing you love about your blogging job.

LOL. I love that it's not a j-o-b. I also like connecting with others the most. Love meeting cool people like you, Kayla.

Q. Name one thing you’re not quite fond of about your blogging job.

I didn't realize the amount of work that would go in behind the scenes. I've also developed BOCD after I started blogging. You can read more about it at this post.

Q. What’s one random fact about you?

I always have something to drink with me - usually it's water, coffee or tea. I have a wide variety of cups, glasses, mugs and bottles that I use to get my liquids. At least dehydration will never be a problem for me.

Q. Inspiration comes in many forms for different people. What inspires you?

Good question! Hmm...let me see...I would have to say that other people inspire me. It never ceases to amaze me the spirit and creativity of others.

Q. Where else can we find you(Personal Website, Etsy Shop, Twitter, Facebook, Etc.)?

Midday Escapades is my only blog and if you leave a comment, I will always respond by email if a response is needed. I'm also on Twitter: @middayescapades and Facebook. My email address is: middayescapades at gmail dot com.

Happy Turkey Day!!

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!!

I figured with everyone busy cleaning, cooking, and entertaining family and friends for most of the day, no one would have time to surf the blogosphere today, so I'm going to take this day off...

As should all of you *points*

That being said, I wish you all a wonderful and happy (not to mention safe) Thanksgiving Day! Spending time with family and friends is such a beautiful thing-And when you throw in some yummy food and that down home-y feeling, you have the Thanksgiving Holiday :)

Enjoy!

Simply Clean-Soap That Makes Sense

Give a big welcome to Karina of Soap That Makes Scents on Etsy!

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Karina and her loving husband currently live and play in Queens, New York. What got her started with her bath and body products is quite a happenstance situation...

She once accompanied her husband on a business trip to England-"It got pretty boring waiting around the hotel in between dinner banquets and conferences," said Karina, "so I found out, quite by accident, that there was a local soap-making class being held near the hotel. I went, fell in love, and haven't looked back!"

Since then, Karina has, quite literally, made a living off her soap and bath products! She tells me her soap is a full-time job, and her Etsy site is a part of the overall business-Besides her online venues, she does weekly craft shows year round, as well as, private home shows and several wholesale accounts across the nation.

Who knew all of that wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for setting up shop on Etsy?!

As a seasoned soap maker, you can understand that all of her inspirations come from scents themselves. According to Karina, scents invoke memories and have the power to bring you back to special times in your life. They can put you in a certain mood and make you a feel a certain way-"Every time I get in a shipment of essential oils and fragrance oils, I tear open the box like it's Christmas morning and have to smell everything right away. I simply cannot wait. Then I get out my soap journal and write down each scent-if it's a new one I haven't worked with yet, as well as any feelings it may invoke in me and thoughts on how to describe it which helps speed up the listing process. Scents are inspiring and I want to capture a moment of life in every single bar."

You can tell Karina loves what she does, and it shows in everything she does! If this post hasn't swayed you one way or another, just check out her sale and feedback record...

"A bar of soap is the simplest and most environment-loving way to get yourself clean. I love making it with my own two hands, and can't see myself ever stopping."

Things to know about Karina and her products:

*Make sure to check out all the new and fun stuff going on at KbyK on Blogger.

*Twitter and Tweet with her @KreatedbyKarina
on Twitter!

*Need more of something? Don't worry about it-Just convo Karina and she'll be glad to create a custom order just for you :)

*For payment, shipping and other information of the like, check out her Shop Policies Page.

Advice from Karina: "Do not expect a flock of buyers in your store the moment you list your first item. Networking is extremely important all of the time, but even more so in the beginning stages of your business. It does take time to build a customer base, and things won't happen magically overnight no matter how original and exciting your items are. Promote to your target audience instead of just everywhere you can---you'll save a lot of time, energy and money this way."

If your a fan of bath and body products, then check out Karina's shop, Soap That Makes Sense. She really has some great things stocked and there is more to come!

Uuuuuugh!

I. HATE. TECHNOLOGY!

**Damnitalltomothereffinhell**

Seriously, my phone seems to be shut off even though we paid the bill on time, Charlie and his friend Mr. Charger had a fight and now he refuses to charge and I can't get my ipod touch because I have to wait to see if Charlie is fixable-If not, guess what the ipod money is going towards?!

Just shoot me now.

As you can see, I'm having technical difficulties so this may be a few days. Thanks in advanced for your understanding and patience!

Mother Nature's Bidding-Nature's Art Melbourne

Last week, I found myself fresh out of talented artists, so hopefully by now you know what that means-Off to the Etsy Forums! I went ahead and posted my 'wanted' threat and was hit with many promising and wonderful people, many of whom are located all over the world! So for today's featured artist, we are traveling down under ;-)

Say hello to Martina of Nature's Art Melbourne on Etsy!

Located in Melbourne, Australia (if you didn't get that out of her shop's name), Martina is a glorified employee of Mother Nature-Well, I personally like to look at it like that! If you take a look at her work, you can certainly see why I say that...

Martina migrated to Australia in 2001 because she found the the love of her life-Awwww :)
Before that, she was Social worker in Austria and quickly found herself burned out-Thinking of only herself, she didn't hesitate to quite her job and travel outback Australia for 3 months with her new gentleman, a 4 wheel drive and a tent. In that time, Martina found her calling!

Unbenounced to her at the time, she started to gather and collect random objects: rocks, timber, feathers, and other things that caught her eye, thinking like any crafter, 'I can do something with this!'

"Here I am 8 years on making a living with it!"

In her own words, she creates what nature tells her to: jewelery, sculptures, cards, mobiles and anything else she is inspired to create. Everything Martina does is from scratch-From the shaping, sanding and drilling to the polishing and setting of the stones. Once she has a project in mind, she is dedicated to it no matter how long it takes to create! You can definitely tell her pieces are unique works of art and filled with Nature's spirit!

Things to know about Martina, her jewelry, and her shop:

*All creations come from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.

*Become a Facebook Fan!

*I'm seriously in love with Martina's photographs, as well as her stunning jewelry and if you are too, go ahead and check out her Flickr Page for more eye candy.

*For payment, shipping, and other important information, check out her Shop Policies Page.

Advice from Martina: "Don't worry about competition - do what you love to do and trust in yourself!"

I absolutely adore her Shop Announcement Page! It's beautifully written, and at the same time it gets her point across that what she does is for Nature-I can definitely respect and admire that! If you or someone you know appreciates Mother Nature and would love something from her, brows the selection at Nature's Art Melbourne.

A Buddhist Monk Named Sal

I had the most wonderful and seldomly offered opportunity on Saturday at about two in the afternoon.

What pray tell would that be? Glad you asked!

I was able to study meditation from a Buddhist monk named Sal (his given name was too hard to pronounce, let alone spell, so he was nice enough to let us call him Sal).

This opportunity was brought into fruitation by Rachel, my yoga instructor-Apparently it's a monthly occurrence, so I knew about it for awhile (a couple of weeks at least) and ever since I heard about it, I've been looking forward to it like a kid would look forward to going into a candy store!

Needless to say, it was more amazing then I can even put into words-There were some great like-minded people in the class, so we all felt at ease with one another and our surroundings. For most of us, this was our first time in a big group, so there was a question and answer round before and after the meditation.

Sal was able to help us get into the 'spirit,' and for our first meditation, we did what's called a love and energy meditation, which is basically you work on bringing self love to yourself and you also send out loving energies to those you are close to and care about.

Like I said, it was just pure amazingness through and through.

There is a retreat on December 5th that I REALLY want to go to in Woodstock, IL, that's like an all day thing and it's lead by these three suburban monks and a nun (I know, it sounds like a bad joke)-Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to go! If not, I can look forward to another meditation class in December :)

Monday Mingle(11/23)

Okay so if you remember, I was all ready and gung ho to do my Monday Mingle vlog last week, when what happens?

My camera dies and I can't find the damn charger(isn't that the way it goes though?!).

Well after turning my room upside down, then trying in vein to scrounge it up in many other places, I finally just said screw it and waited it out.

Guess what?! It was plugged into my wall the whole damn time. Before you ask, yes, I am that blonde. LOL

So this week I'm ready and raring to go(again). Here are this week's Monday Mingle questions:

1. Men: When your spouse asks you "how does this outfit make me look" - how do you respond?

Ladies: Do you really want him to answer honestly?

2. Both: What is one thing you should always do to keep your spouse/partner happy? What do you do/say to avoid friction in your relationship?

3. Both: What were the first thoughts about your spouse/partner that came to mind when you first met him/her?

4. Both: What is your favorite physical feature of your spouse/partner?

5. Both: What are the key ingredients to a successful marriage/relationship?

6. Are you ready for more Speedy Cop movie quotes?

Seriously?! Well this is going to be a very short vlog...Lol

**Technical Difficulties-Video will hopefully be up soon**

Mailbox Monday(11/23)

Mailbox Monday divulges into the inner workings of my mailbox throughout the week. From books to jewelry to free samples to random magazines and letters-You never know what will be in the mail this week...

***********************************************************************

1. I got some very lovely birthday cards in the mail this week!!
Thanks to everyone who loves me :D

2. My Lymie friend Suzy, bless her big ol' heart had flowers delivered to me ON my birthday!! Can you believe it? And she lives in California/Arkansas. She actually looked up the nearest florist in the area and placed a delivery-I have to say I was almost in happy tears just thinking about how thoughtful she is.

If your reading this Suzy Q, I love you!!

3. As you know, Max of Krafty Max Originals makes some beautiful jewelry (If you didn't know for some reason, I suggest you check her out) and she was so wonderful to send me a little Birthday present care package-I was seriously stunned!

Thank you so much again Max!! You are one amazing lady and I'm so happy to be able to know you :)

4. Thanks to Valerie of Sweeps4Bloggers, I won a Yoga to Go system a few weeks back and just got it on Friday-Three words: I. LOVE. IT.

I hope I will be able to do a review when my other blog get's launched :)

5. Don't you LOVE these cards from Lemontree Cards?! Another one of my winnings, but this time from Angie of A Simple Kinda Life! I'm so excited because hopefully within the next few weeks, I'll be reviewing the cards I got(and there is talk of a giveaway surprise, but you didn't hear it from me)!

6. My lovely and incredibly thoughtful Aunt's both sent me a little something in the mail as well, so I can't wait to see them and be able to thank them in person!

7. Nope, not a present-Another giveaway winning! This came thanks to Cher of Mama's Money Savers.

I got to choose what I wanted from The Natural Bath & Body Shop, so I chose something that I could give as a gift for Christmas-Hopefully I can find someone to give it to :)

In case you were wondering, yes, I did have a particularly lucky week last week(averaged 2 wins a day roughly). I'm planning on putting a series together within the next few weeks on how to win giveaways so if you want to know my secrets, keep coming back!

So what did you all get in the mail this week?

Slapdash Sunday(11/22)

Slapdash Sunday is a day for your proverbial week 'leftovers.' Is there something you wanted to say, but just forgot? Is there something you want to write about, but isn't worth a whole page? Do you have a random thought, funny or otherwise that needs to be written down?

That is what Slapdash Sunday is for!

***********************************************************************

1. So the 20% off for my 20th Sale in both Etsy shops was a big flop-Although I think that was because of me...I really didn't promote well and it was a seriously LAST minute thing so I shouldn't get too down on myself.

There is always more sale opportunities :)

2. The basement didn't go so well....Actually, the basement didn't go at all. LOL
Although I was able to put my beading station together so pictures are on their way!!

3. "If this is what giving birth feels like, I want to be euthanized."
--My Sister who was trying to refer to an epidural

May I just say: HAHAHA

4. I have so many ideas running around in my head it's insane!

At least they make for good blog posts.

This week's Small Talk Six topic is:

6 Things Your Most Thankful for This Year

1. First and foremost, I'm thankful for my family. Yes, they may get on my nerves (A LOT) and yes, I may want to leave and strike out on my own (VERY SOON), but I'm So Lucky to have them in my life.

2. My Friends-I love my friends dearly and even though they have come and gone throughout my life, I still consider all of them life changing whether they are currently in my life or not.

Photo Curtsy of Sawa Global

3. The Basics-I know there are many people out there who don't have food on a daily basis or a stable household, so I'm very thankful to be one of the lucky ones.

4. Love-With my family and friends, non-Lymie and Lymie alike, I have all the love one person could possibly need!

5. My health-Even though it's not optimal and it hasn't been for 6 years, I'm SO thankful I'm still up and moving and actually able to DO things.

6. Chocolate-Do I really have to explain this one!?

Happy Saturday Everyone!!
