I don't remember when or how I came across Nicole of Recycle My Dress, but let me tell you all, Oh My Bleeping God-This girl has one hell of a talent going for her!! I'm so glad that she agreed to be featured on The Element :-)
Currently living in the state of Pennsylvania in a little town called Bucks County (whether it's really a little town, I have no idea), Nicole got started with her crafting talent at the young age of 12 when both her grandmother and mother went ahead and taught her how to sew. After that, the sky was the limit!
Working as an Office Manager in an acupuncture office, teaching yoga, and running her business, she is definitely one busy lady, but it all coincides together nicely. With her business, Nicole specializes in taking your old dresses and revamping them into new and stunning creations that you can wear again and again-I've seen some of what she does and it's quite impressive(and eco-friendly)!
Not only does she have an account on Etsy, but she has a very wonderfully put-together personal website that lets you know the extent of her abilities-Don't believe me? Check for yourself!
Despite the fact that she has both an Etsy and a personal venue, Nicole informed me that more people contact her directly to get their dresses recycled: "What my clients do is give me their addresses and then when I'm done, I return it to them. That way they can wear their bridesmaids dresses again!" But don't let that discourage you-If your interested in getting something recycled, there are plenty of amazing pictures on her site that show you just what can be pulled off using your old clothing.
Some things to know about Nicole and what she does:*"Every one of my recycled dresses is original, sustainable and has a story behind it!"

Advice from Nicole: "I would advise people to recycle in any way they can, from just carrying your own shopping bags to recycling your trash. I went to 8 wedding this year and I didn't wear the same dress twice, I just kept recycling from what I already had. We all can do it!"
So do you have that ugly bridesmaids dress sitting in the back of your closet from years ago that you can't bring yourself to throw away (I can name a few people I know that would have a few of those themselves)? Now you finally have something to DO with it! I can definitely tell you I have a few dresses in serious need of revamping! Lol
Love and Energies.
