Goddess of Change-Hecate's Adornments

Here is a little Greek Mythology lesson for you guys today: Hecate is the Greek Goddess of of hidden wisdom, change and darkness. In a lot of stories, she is presented as an evil hag, however, that is not true! It shows that she started out as Heket, the Egyptian Goddess of Childbirth. This deity has the power to change, whether that change be for good or evil and is her own goddess in every way.

Change is a very powerful thing, and Grace of Hecate's Adornments on Etsy captures it beautifully in her creations! In my opinion, this deity's name is definitely suitable for today's featured seller!

Grace lives just a state away(were state neighbors!) in Dayton, Ohio. Thanks to her parents who always encouraged her to be creative, she has been crafting ever since she could string beads on string(and it helped a little that her parent's bought her bead kits and gift certificates as a child)!

I love the way she puts her life at the moment and I know that other students, including myself, can totally relate to the situation: "I am a full time student and minimum wage slave at the moment." So as the quote implied, Etsy is a side job and a creative outlet when Grace isn't in school and at work.

Grace has been selling her jewelry for a good 4 years on Craftster.org(never heard of it, but I'm going to do a little exploring after I finish the feature) and decided to take the plunge and open a shop on Etsy just this last month! She already has a sale, so I would say she is on the right track. A good feature now and again doesn't hurt the matter either ;-)

Some things to know about Grace and her shop:

*Besides Etsy, you can find Grace on Facebook, Twitter, and for the next three weeks, Cafe Handmade!

*All her pieces are made in a smoke free environment-Pet free is another story, but if you have a specific problem with that, she would be happy to do a special order for you.

*Speaking of special, she does custom and wholesale orders(excludes chainmaile)! Just convo her with the details.

*To view payment, shipping, and other information, take a look at her Shop Policies Page.

Grace's Advice for us: "Keep your eyes open and be a sponge no matter where you are. Seriously, a leaf could be the inspiration for a gorgeous necklace. Or 8 transistors that your partner gives you!" I'm not sure what that last part means exactly, but I agree!

Even though Grace has only been on Etsy for a month, she is no stranger to the crafting world and selling online. If you have a chance, go ahead and look through her store Hecate's Adornments and the other venues and social media sites she is on. Us crafters got to support each other right?

Love and Energies.
Kayla
