A Girl's Best Friend-AllyBu's Handbags

Some people debate that diamonds are a girl's best friend, but I have to beg to differ. Diamonds don't carry around very important things when girls may need them, nor are they able to sneak snacks into movies if they are big enough. In my view, purses are a girls best friend-They may be unorganized and cursed at now and again for losing something vital to us, but we girls always come to and forgive them before our next outing.

So today, meet Tuesday's featured artist who creates our best friends: Allison from AllyBu's Handmade Handbags, Totes and Accessories on Etsy.

A current resident of a town called Greenville, in the state of South Carolina, Allison has sewing in her blood! It comes naturally to her because seeing as her father is a retired tailor, she has grown up around sewing. Also, her mother is an avid crafter so she gets it from both sides =]
"I have many memories of my Mom strolling me around the fabric stores and making all my clothes."

Her 'real life' job consists of being a controller for a software development company. However, she got started with Etsy because of a friend who had already established a pottery business on the site. Since Allison already enjoyed sewing, she decided to try her hand at selling her own work and here she is! If you ask me, her Etsy store is doing very well, so I wouldn't doubt it if in a few years, she were doing it full time! She already has 200 sales since January of this year!!

Allison's medium is fabric(of course)! I get excited just seeing new fabrics and envisioning what could be done with them. I am having a blast!"
