Chic Boutique Jewelry *Review and Giveaway*

I feel completely horrible because this Friday's featured artist's post was supposed to be set for last Friday, but as you all know, I just wasn't up to anything last week, so it had to be postponed. However, It's postponement is no more! I'm more then happy to share with you today the work of fellow jewelry artist and crafter Cindy of Chic Boutique Jewelry on Etsy.

Not only does Cindy have her jewelry shop on Etsy, but she has a second store for her paper products such as cards, journals, and gift tags. You can find her second store under the name Paper Tree Stationary.

And while were at it, let's not forget her Blog or Twitter!

As a full- time college student living in California and working part-time, Cindy loves to travel around the world and keep herself busy with her crafting in her spare time. She loves to create new and simple jewelry that can be worn for any occasion, while being kind to out Mother Earth in the process with her environmentally friendly upcycled products. "Being green does not mean that you have to sacrifice style."

Cindy has been crafting most of her life. It all started as a way to spend time with her family and from there, it was the fact that none of the jewelry she came upon ever fit her right(which only frustrated her). Then of course like any self respecting artist, she couldn't limit her repertoire to only a single art form, so she got into sewing. As for materials, well, in her own words, she uses any materials she can get her hands on!

Some advice she had to share with us can be summed up in two parts:

"Be involved and to be passionate about your craft because it will show in your work," and, "You should be involved in your community, such as craft fairs and boutiques, and also on places like Etsy. On Etsy you can be involved in forums, chatrooms, and teams. These are great ways to get exposure and meet fabulous people at the same time."

If you go and take a look through Chic Boutique Jewelry, you can see all the different kinds of things offered from standard necklace, earring, and bracelet jewelry to different styles of lanyards to cute hair clips. Her current project is retro aprons so we should be seeing those shortly! With 52 sales and 100% feedback in a little under a years time, I would say Cindy is doing wonderfully! I would be quite lucky if I was where she is in a years time =]

I was so excited when she offered to let me do a product review for her Pink and White Silk Orchid Luau Clip pictured to the left. Here is her item description:

"This is a beautiful and very realistic looking hair clip made of a single silk orchid flower. The flower measures 3" long and 3 1/2" wide. The flower is all white with a soft pink petal in the middle. The clip is double pronged and partially lined to help keep the clip in place all day long."

I can honestly say that when I clipped my flower into place, that puppy wouldn't move! To be completely thorough, I even shook my head and it didn't budge. Lol At the risk of sounding pretty dramatic, it's amazing how much that little clip transformed me when I put it on-It made me feel pretty and feminine ^.^ And let me tell you, I need a little of that in my life since the only place I can go anymore is on my front porch. I can't wait to actually wear it out one of these days!
